Welcome Garrett | Project Manager

We are pleased to announce another new team member at Moore Engineering. Garrett Monson recently joined Moore as a Project Manager. We are thrilled to have him and wanted to share with you some of the questions we asked him!

What is one word that describes you?

Creative

Where else have you lived and worked?

I have spent most of my adult life in the Greater Twin Cities Area and previously worked for Houston Engineering. Prior to full-time employment I did an internship with RESPEC in Rapid City, SD while living and attending school out there at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. After my undergraduate studies, I worked at the Saint Anthony Falls Laboratory while earning my master’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Minnesota. I have also previously worked as a farm laborer and a camp counselor while growing up in south-central MN near Mankato. I even did a stint at a fast-food restaurant.

Where are you from and where do you currently reside?

I grew up in rural south-central MN including near Gaylord and Mankato. I currently live in Maple Grove, MN with my family of 4 (soon to be 5!) and our golden retriever.

What is your favorite thing about your career?

My greatest joy in Civil Engineering is collaborating with clients and teammates to find sustainable and creative solutions to problems or needs in our communities. I really enjoy connecting people’s technical skills to situations where they are needed.

What do you like to do for fun?

My family enjoys the great outdoors through water play including splashing, swimming, and boating. The swing set and bikes are regularly used with our two little boys who also love books and puzzles. Music and art are big passions in our home. Taking it in, making it, dancing to it. Some of my personal hobbies include woodworking, DIY projects, technology, and gaming.
