Moore Engineering Supports Bemidji Carnegie Library

Moore Engineering recently made a donation to the Friends of the Carnegie on behalf of the restoration of Bemidji’s historic Carnegie library.

Rich Slagle, Moore Engineering’s Community and Client Development Manager, presented Suzanne Liapis, President of the Friends of the Carnegie, with a check for the Library. Says Slagle, “Moore Engineering is committed to giving back to the communities we serve. We are very pleased to contribute toward the restoration of the Carnegie, and are glad to be part of the efforts to save and preserve this historic part of Bemidji. And we plan to be more involved in other projects and activities in Bemidji in the future.”

“We are so grateful to Rich and to Moore Engineering for their contribution and support,” says Liapis. “We know their belief in the value of our history is shared by so many other members of our community.”

The mission of the Friends of the Carnegie is to restore and preserve the historic Carnegie Library building in the heart of Bemidji’s downtown. As of May 1, the group has raised $2.080 million. The construction is currently underway, and the project is expected to be complete in July.

The team working to preserve and restore the Bemidji Carnegie Library is an all-volunteer group of members from the extended Bemidji community. For more information on the history of this landmark building, or to make a donation in aid of the project, please visit www.savethecarnegie.org. Donations to the Bemidji Carnegie fund are managed through the Northwest Minnesota Foundation, and are fully tax-deductible.
