West Fargo | Drain 45 | Multi-use Path
Moore Engineering is proud to work with cities to help build strong communities. This project goes through the heart of West Fargo, and is a great example of a small change with big impact.
Prior to this path, the 1 mile stretch of land was an open channel which was filled with stagnant water. To eliminate mosquito breeding areas and create a safer, more pleasing green space near residents’ backyards, the open channel was enclosed in 2012. Now, utilizing this green space, a multi-use path was installed to provide greater connectivity to other path networks in the City and provide recreation opportunities in an otherwise unusable tract of land. Completed with elevated speed tables and rectangular rapid flashing beacons at street crossings, this provides a safe path for pedestrians, but also children going to the many neighboring schools and parks.
