Otter Tail County Lake Outlet Project (4/24/18 Update)

The traffic detour in place has closed 410th Ave. for construction and is anticipated to remain closed through the first week of May. Contractors began installing 24-inch forcemain pipe along 410th Ave. and have installed 1,700 feet of pipe from the common leg junction to the cemetery.  At this point, approximately 10 percent of the forcemain has been installed and the estimated completion date is mid-July.

The first stage of sheet pile installation associated with the contractor’s dewatering system for situating the intake and discharge pipes in Little McDonald Lake is complete.  In the coming days, a crew will remove ice surrounding the inlet and begin filling stage one of the sheet pile area with sand to allow the crane to reposition farther into the lake and the process will be repeated.

The pumpstation is approximately 25 percent complete with the underground wet well being completed. Construction of pump house structure and installation of the pumps and filters will begin early May with estimated completion date in mid-July.
