Moore and employees donate
Moore Engineering and its employee owners donated a total of $13,800 to the American Red Cross today.
The money was raised at the company’s annual banquet, where employees participate in a variety of fundraising activities and the company then matches what the employees contribute.
“This effort is another extraordinary example of our employees’ generosity,” said Jeff Volk, Moore president and CEO. “I couldn’t be more proud of the effort that goes into raising this money in just one night. As a company, we are happy to match what the employees raise to make our community even stronger.”
The American Red Cross was selected as the recipient of this year’s annual banquet fundraiser because of the strain recent hurricanes have placed on the American Red Cross. A blitz of damaging weather in Texas, Florida and Puerto Rico tapped resources from the Dakotas Region Red Cross chapter, as they provided volunteers, equipment and financial support for the storm-ravaged areas.
With Moore’s engineering emphasis on flood control, Volk said it was appropriate for the company to support the Red Cross with additional support this year. “Houston, Texas, and other cities were inundated with water, and we understand the impact of such a devastating flood event. The American Red Cross is always there in a crisis, and we want to support them when we can.”
