Dakota Park – The Wilds South Park

CHALLENGE

The project included construction of a new regional park to provide park amenities for approximately 750 residential homes. The park was coordinated with the Owner and Developer to meet the needs of existing and future residents while master planning regional multi-use path connectivity throughout the Development. Park amenities consisted of age 2-12 year old playground, concrete hockey rink with dasher boards that could be utilized as pickleball courts in the summer months, combined warming/ picnic shelter, multi-use green space, regional path connectivity, pond look out and parking lot.

SOLUTION

Moore Engineering developed concept drawings showing the Park District and Developer potential park layouts that would satisfy the needs of the residents. After determining the park layout, Moore Engineering worked with various consultants, suppliers and manufactures to select products that met the needs while keeping cost of project within the anticipated budget. Moore Engineering provided plans and specifications for all site amenities along with sanitary sewer, water main and storm sewer infrastructure, construction engineering, construction staking and contract administration on behalf of the Owner.

OUTCOME

The park was completed in the Summer of 2020 and satisfies the needs of the residents who live in the development.
