The Best Community Investments Start with the Right Team
Communities face increasingly complex challenges, from aging infrastructure to growth planning and funding constraints. While one dedicated professional can make a difference, lasting success often requires the collective expertise of an entire team.
When communities partner with Moore Engineering, they gain more than one project manager. They gain access to engineers, funding specialists, planners, public engagement professionals, environmental experts, and other team members working together toward a shared goal. This collaborative approach expands capacity, brings diverse perspectives to the table, and helps keep projects moving forward efficiently.
This month, as we celebrate our clients, we’re celebrating the communities and people we’re fortunate to work alongside every day.
A City Engineer Is More Than a Project Designer
A city engineer’s role extends well beyond designing a roadway or utility project.
At Moore Engineering, we’ve had the privilege of serving as a trusted partner to communities across the region for more than six decades. Through long-term relationships, we gain an understanding of each community’s goals, challenges, and priorities, helping leaders navigate decisions with confidence.
Whether it’s planning for future infrastructure needs, identifying funding opportunities, managing complex projects, or providing day-to-day guidance, we’re committed to helping communities move their priorities forward.
Client success is our passion. That’s why we take a relationship-driven approach, listening first and aligning our expertise with each community’s goals.
Client Spotlight: Helping Braham Take the Next Step
The City of Braham, Minnesota, is a great example of that partnership.
In 2024, Braham was preparing to move forward with the first phase of its Capital Improvement Plan (CIP), while also advancing major improvements to its Wastewater Treatment Facility. These two efforts represented a significant investment for the city and an important step in addressing long-term street, utility and treatment needs.
The project included 23 blocks of deteriorated pavement, outdated water, sanitary sewer and storm sewer infrastructure, drainage concerns and sidewalks that needed to meet ADA accessibility standards. With homes and active businesses throughout the project area, the work also required careful phasing and communication to minimize disruption.
Moore’s municipal, survey, construction, funding, and environmental teams worked alongside Braham’s city leaders throughout the process. Across the two projects, total costs were roughly $14.5 million, with about $12.5 million covered through grants and other funding support, including a major state legislative allotment for the Wastewater Treatment Facility improvements. The remaining approximately $2 million was financed through loans.
When contaminated soil was discovered during construction, Moore and the city worked together to address the issue, evaluate options, and keep the project moving while managing the additional costs. The project was substantially completed in fall 2025, on schedule and within the expected budget.
The result wasn’t just improved streets, utilities, drainage, sidewalks and wastewater treatment capacity. It was a long-term investment in Braham’s reliability, accessibility, downtown and future growth.
It was also a project shaped by a community and its partners working together from planning through construction.
Building Stronger Communities
The best community investments don’t happen because of one person. They happen when trusted relationships, collaborative teams, and a proven process come together to create lasting solutions.
That takes more than engineering. It requires local leaders who understand their community, staff who know its day-to-day needs, residents and businesses invested in its future, and partners who bring the expertise and capacity to help move priorities forward.
For more than six decades, Moore Engineering has been proud to serve as a city engineer and trusted partner to hundreds of communities across the region. We work alongside local leaders, not just to deliver projects, but to help plan for what’s next.
This month, we’re especially grateful for our clients and the trust they place in us. Thank you for making us part of your team. We’re proud to help you plan, build, and invest in the communities you call home.
