Internships at Moore

At Moore Engineering, an internship is more than a summer job. It’s an opportunity to gain hands-on experience, work alongside industry professionals, and see how classroom concepts are applied to real projects that serve communities across the region.

I chose Moore Engineering because of the good work environment and how friendly everyone is. I also chose Moore to learn about different civil engineering applications. If I ever have a question, people are more than willing to answer them.

A Day In The Life

Want to know what your typical day looks like?

Explore how our interns divide their time between fieldwork, office collaboration, project support, professional development, and learning opportunities.

✅ Arrive onsite between 7-8 AM, check in with the contractor, and review the day’s installation plans and survey stakes.

✅ Inspect traffic control and stormwater management measures, reporting any deficiencies for correction.

✅ Document every detail in a daily log, including work activities, equipment used, materials installed, and any issues encountered.

✅ Stay in constant communication with project engineers, contractors, and residents, addressing questions and coordinating efforts.

✅ Wrap up with construction meetings, tracking project progress, ensuring accurate redlines/as-builts, and assisting with materials testing and project closeout.

I’ve learned a lot about the civil construction process. I’ve learned how to communicate with contractors, and it’s been very, very helpful for the real world.
