More than 900 employees have been part of the company since brothers Kip and Marshall Moore returned to North Dakota to begin a civil engineering firm. The longevity of staff has been a key factor in building the long-term client relationships. Moore Engineering has enjoyed this reputation for many years.
Doing business as a partnership from 1960 to 1970, Moore incorporated in 1970, and in 1998, the company formed an Employee Stock Ownership Plan to allow partial ownership of the company by employees.
In 2004, Moore became 100 percent employee-owned.
Part of what makes a career with Moore rewarding is the extensive community involvement of the company and its employees. Moore employees hold leadership positions in local, state, and professional organizations. They volunteer, delivering meals on Wheels, ringing Salvation Army bells, and raising money for charity.
Moore Engineering is a corporate sponsor for United Way Day of Caring and the firm received the Best Practices Pacesetter Award in 2010. In 2003, it received the Fargo-Moorhead Chamber Choice Award as "Small Business of the Year."
