Company History

In 1960, Kip and Marshall Moore founded Moore Engineering to create solutions for everyday problems. Over the past half century, Moore has completed more than 18,000 civil and environmental engineering projects in North Dakota and Minnesota, advancing the region’s water, municipal, campus and transportation infrastructure, and greatly improving the quality of life in dozens of Midwest cities and communities.

The brothers incorporated their partnership in 1970. Today, Moore Engineering is a 100 percent employee-owned ESOP company with more than 150 employees playing a role in partnering with more than 100 communities and organizations in North Dakota and Minnesota.

Many clients have been with us for decades: we are proud to say we’ve served as the city engineer for Casselton, North Dakota, since 1962 and West Fargo, North Dakota, since 1963. Headquartered in West Fargo, Moore has additional locations in Bismarck and Minot, North Dakota, and Fergus Falls, Minnesota.

Whether it’s building a water tower, wastewater system, dam, road, airport or parking lot, Moore Engineering works side-by-side with clients to find sustainable solutions to the challenges they face, from funding and permitting to implementation and maintenance. We know how to bring together stakeholders to complete a project successfully, and we understand that the work we do today is an investment in the future.
